Khasta Kachori

Growing up in Pune in the 80s and 90s was a lot of fun. If we planned on meeting someone halfway, chaha-chi tapri (street-side tea stall) was most likely to be the meeting point. There were legendary places such as Cafe Good Luck, Vaishali, Roopali, but these came into picture much later.

Dorabjees and Marzorin used to be our most favorite places to hang out with friends during school summer vacations. The next best were the places that served chaat; Shree Krishna Bhelpuri Center, RadheShyam Bhel, Kailash Chaat and so on. While I remember having bhelpuri-panipuri at these chaat-corners, I don’t think I had khasta kachori with alu gravy ever. Khasta kachori with imli chutney, yes, but with the rassedaar gravy, nope!

So here’s a post on the never tried and tasted dish made with the store bought yumminess (khasta kachori) meets the leftover goodness (matar usal). I also made some French fries on the side, chopped them coarsely and added it to the usal. Oooh what a quick fix that was ðŸ’¡ Topped khasta kachori with usal, imli chutney, green chutney, finely chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro and had it with a hot cuppa chai ☕️ To celebrating weeknights #justbecause ❤️
