Since we are never ever in a hurry to reach anywhere on snowy or chilly weekends, it works! </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTQMEpirF6suzyKUI5w52Uc_PQxM6Hu-_hwuQgSXgbK14qtqtsW1xFUZHAGaAekIR17GdF3IOn2iv3SlSKF8VOrT2M9lgfzeJq0ftL6dVqeJf7BmrMO0RDCXyRIttsnVSmGsYxOjWU4ro4ANmD1y093emJbryUXTzHZDVUPAaGJ62H_qohzD6pPTlX5jU/s1608/IMG_7654.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1608" data-original-width="1209" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTQMEpirF6suzyKUI5w52Uc_PQxM6Hu-_hwuQgSXgbK14qtqtsW1xFUZHAGaAekIR17GdF3IOn2iv3SlSKF8VOrT2M9lgfzeJq0ftL6dVqeJf7BmrMO0RDCXyRIttsnVSmGsYxOjWU4ro4ANmD1y093emJbryUXTzHZDVUPAaGJ62H_qohzD6pPTlX5jU/s320/IMG_7654.jpg" width="241" /></a></div><p></p><p class="p1" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-feature-settings: normal; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Weekends, more than often reminds me of the good ol’ days, where we’d start with hitting the stores for shopping and ended up at the cinema halls or the ice-cream parlors. With everything at your fingertips, including shopping and watching cinema on big screen at home, in our comfort zone, we often try to recreate the vibe at home, especially during the winters. It’s fun watching Bollywood movies shot in scenic places like Nainital, Shimla, Manali, Dalhousie, Ooty- movies with hill stations!? - have my ❤️ You instantly get transported!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWYJJs2pvnlLNcR2l904D_kjEifpG91w3EoW38cj8I2j1OOWb08Rhp_wNAr-2qdEHS0t6w4qjWzLTpSqb12XR_Mzw9yIKzcxtwe-ZIPbDyKVYdb58xi36fJSgDbs7VCK6T3g8XA3otJef3m9b9sqQjc8jXLo5GaAy22PB6QkSSxvSmbtBJWXFCAt7a8Gs/s1624/IMG_7655.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1624" data-original-width="1198" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWYJJs2pvnlLNcR2l904D_kjEifpG91w3EoW38cj8I2j1OOWb08Rhp_wNAr-2qdEHS0t6w4qjWzLTpSqb12XR_Mzw9yIKzcxtwe-ZIPbDyKVYdb58xi36fJSgDbs7VCK6T3g8XA3otJef3m9b9sqQjc8jXLo5GaAy22PB6QkSSxvSmbtBJWXFCAt7a8Gs/s320/IMG_7655.jpg" width="236" /></a></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><p class="p1" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-feature-settings: normal; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">I also made some sambhar and mini cocktail masala idlis tempered in ghee with some mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies and lots of store bought podi- for the love of Udupi scenes at home on wintry weekends. Jolly Joseph, a mother and wife, was accused of poisoning six members of her family, including her first husband, with cyanide. She did this to inherit the family property. Her research and her mind of a criminal since the beginning is quite scary. For a simple looking someone to go to the extent killing people left, right, and center is something one wouldn’t ever dream of. I mean to what extent does one go for the greed of money and a good life, is unbelievable. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px; text-align: start;"><br /></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkAjsIMoUtRhYufR9vstI9s-CQtKQAVrLPwsZJA_xMtIKrnygbmuuN4w2pTg19qgET5989S6CjXUahtLp7fK1TRjfMeKqFIuSgNaRgrgCU_fMX4n5qgVj9B20rrk8XFp_J7KeXS61Aa7PLu9Bw9ZKQ6VyHixvfxIYK6FNvSaQxWh6_umTBf2KhfXzbcPk/s1615/IMG_7643.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1615" data-original-width="1210" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkAjsIMoUtRhYufR9vstI9s-CQtKQAVrLPwsZJA_xMtIKrnygbmuuN4w2pTg19qgET5989S6CjXUahtLp7fK1TRjfMeKqFIuSgNaRgrgCU_fMX4n5qgVj9B20rrk8XFp_J7KeXS61Aa7PLu9Bw9ZKQ6VyHixvfxIYK6FNvSaQxWh6_umTBf2KhfXzbcPk/s320/IMG_7643.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-size: 13px;">Building trust takes a significant amount of time and patience. It doesn’t happen overnight. It might take several months or even years. In today’s day and age, in the world of social media, one definitely must not dismiss this fact. It’s a must see if you haven’t yet! The year 1997 reminded me of many things, but let’s not go there for now. Let’s just focus that the year Jolly Joseph got married must’ve been the same year Bollywood movie Judaai was released. There’s no similarity in the two except for the greed part! By the time you get to the plating, the food gets cold, and I mean really cold. It tends to lose its charm too while photographing. I would be lying if I said it otherwise. But since we love food photography, we can ignore this part once in a while!? Having said that, here’s a big shoutout to all those out there who take the time to post on the gram and make it look effortless. There’s a lot of hard-work involved and you do it day after day relentlessly with a smile on your face. We, my hubby and I had this prawn ghee pepper roast or something similar at a restaurant in Pune. It was a small place which had no printed menu as such. Every dish served seemed very peppery. For the longest time I’d only had prawns koliwada in the restaurants I’d been to, or the usual prawn masala. I hesitated to experiment or try something new at the restaurants, until I’d met Parth. Parth can eat<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>anything and everything under the sun. He’s not someone with reservations nor is he picky. I’m the nakhrewali here! I take time to adapt! It’s thanks to him I’ve been to places unknown, places without menu cards. So this recipe is my attempt at re-creating a dish we enjoyed very very much during our courtship days. It feels like I may have forgotten how it tasted, but at the same time, I think, I still remember how it tasted. Does that makes sense? Well either way, this one turns out just fabulous!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ37TAb_xNUPPP6uIjaoiWMrCWroVPn3DD_188Crs7eS4msiZv2rt7uEpE2PqgpawhXG_dgiBtd40sQyFLbv6odvL5vW0Dr4iYb9j8a3YkuY-mEKjfkgdU5uRkL30GmLsjOTqKq-vwDF4_r88YHSOTJL07rBszF_sX5wFYKAcD58ILigvPP65jkyk_qmU/s4032/C4F3F40B-590D-4495-BC90-11CB41FA0C03-7131-00000854B99C146C.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ37TAb_xNUPPP6uIjaoiWMrCWroVPn3DD_188Crs7eS4msiZv2rt7uEpE2PqgpawhXG_dgiBtd40sQyFLbv6odvL5vW0Dr4iYb9j8a3YkuY-mEKjfkgdU5uRkL30GmLsjOTqKq-vwDF4_r88YHSOTJL07rBszF_sX5wFYKAcD58ILigvPP65jkyk_qmU/s320/C4F3F40B-590D-4495-BC90-11CB41FA0C03-7131-00000854B99C146C.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxFgKv4CJMHB31xnnnHcahgH_V99emvrZE8xWtqqhyphenhyphenqTZqkaWuH2rILF-I6eb2pbHHmMRYPcHI7TIzzRj4i_dx_kFmGQQMFQu1JQGkG5Q8CjyKuN9nOlJj7t4Lia4u9eBh5ZFSSuUmqqvmAla6jMKOng0OioD4ivKAZpPm9XzN9zrTDnUm9p3eS7eyGo8/s4032/EB1D84E6-577D-402C-9B79-1864265C9209-7131-0000085447F6989D.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxFgKv4CJMHB31xnnnHcahgH_V99emvrZE8xWtqqhyphenhyphenqTZqkaWuH2rILF-I6eb2pbHHmMRYPcHI7TIzzRj4i_dx_kFmGQQMFQu1JQGkG5Q8CjyKuN9nOlJj7t4Lia4u9eBh5ZFSSuUmqqvmAla6jMKOng0OioD4ivKAZpPm9XzN9zrTDnUm9p3eS7eyGo8/s320/EB1D84E6-577D-402C-9B79-1864265C9209-7131-0000085447F6989D.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><p></p>Hi, I am Roopali. We just can’t do without masala! We love our masala 💗From masala chai to masala doodh to masala chaas to masala pasta - we love our dash of masala in almost everything 😋 Our Sunday nashta with masala pasta 🏡 This is a five ingredient only pasta recipe - finely chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and two of your favorite seasonings (I have used a mix of Pilpelchuma and Sumac spice blend). We love having this with our hot cuppa chai or coffee on lazy mornings like today. Sprinkle tons of your favorite cheese 🧀 on this masala pasta and we’re ready for slurping!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><p class="p2" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-feature-settings: normal; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; min-height: 15px;"><br /></p><p class="p1" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue"; font-feature-settings: normal; font-kerning: auto; font-optical-sizing: auto; font-size: 13px; font-stretch: normal; font-variant-alternates: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-numeric: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-variation-settings: normal; line-height: normal; margin: 0px;">Happy Sunday!<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p></div><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2T6Wjxb-ax5S521PCcB3SpuPFZWxoezLsJL6mehEq8MCE5H0fd2mCuXZt530mVlLU449ncBRAPv-J0HIVkoFu_WW1-_DdmVLs9GPZvPh3aY20tnDULP0qSwzVwV0KsK1i5lhM-sKywzV605R7ItOgW7RU-S9jtOq5oS4y0XHqaVjzgge1C5_O9ksW5HM/s4030/photo-output%202.HEIC" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4030" data-original-width="3022" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2T6Wjxb-ax5S521PCcB3SpuPFZWxoezLsJL6mehEq8MCE5H0fd2mCuXZt530mVlLU449ncBRAPv-J0HIVkoFu_WW1-_DdmVLs9GPZvPh3aY20tnDULP0qSwzVwV0KsK1i5lhM-sKywzV605R7ItOgW7RU-S9jtOq5oS4y0XHqaVjzgge1C5_O9ksW5HM/s320/photo-output%202.HEIC" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl3NxaJ-39pr7sJpVYpBWwSZaoPT5eiQpKWaqLoFsxLthoDJ7ZluQnAEVWr46whxoy3S3CbIDuhdHh1Rmh3eqjWRofTdEsBfShTfKFTMd-LQlUPdK9ZroZdRQcYiD3uUXvW95q3i_fWvrDFbXN2TIANwd6bR-DUO5w0OoXImhzz2z3KmaGsk2atO-ka6g/s4030/photo-output.HEIC" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4030" data-original-width="3022" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl3NxaJ-39pr7sJpVYpBWwSZaoPT5eiQpKWaqLoFsxLthoDJ7ZluQnAEVWr46whxoy3S3CbIDuhdHh1Rmh3eqjWRofTdEsBfShTfKFTMd-LQlUPdK9ZroZdRQcYiD3uUXvW95q3i_fWvrDFbXN2TIANwd6bR-DUO5w0OoXImhzz2z3KmaGsk2atO-ka6g/s320/photo-output.HEIC" width="240" /></a></div><br /> <p></p>Hi, I am Roopali. We spent many of our weekends next door. Bharti Aunty made the yummiest of koki, and we kids polished it off with a bowlful of yoghurt, pickle and sometimes chai. when we met for brunches, koki was often compared to thalipeeth. Koki was a hit every single time- a favorite amongst us kids. Thalipeeth not so much. We were kids. We got away with it, and the adults being adults embraced it😉My poor mom 🤗 she tried. The adults savored these with hot cuppa chai during their teen patti, almost every other weekend. Small though but such fond memories. On a busy Tuesday, just pop it in the oven for a good 30 min at 275F. Broil for a few minutes, if you like it crispy.
