Thandai Kofta Curry (Meatballs in Thandai Mix)

It’s Thandai fever, people πŸ’ƒπŸ» Why limit ourselves only to sweets when it comes to using thandai masala? Well, we won’t then😎 Thandai masala already has some fennel seeds, peppercorns, and poppy seeds in it. So how about making some Koftas? Ever heard of Thandai Kofta Curry?? Anyhoo, let’s file this dish under Kashmiri cooking meets Thandai Masala and how πŸ˜‹ .. (reasons later) I’m too excited to share this post first πŸ˜‰

Needless to say I have added thandai malasa to my koftas, and deep fried them until golden brown, but you can boil them as well.
For the wet masala - I have used very little onion, and coconut, in addition to cream, cashew nuts, and melon seeds. SautΓ©ed this mixture for a few minutes, added thandai masala, and sautΓ©ed again until the ghee separated. Added koftas to the gravy just before serving. We loved it even better when we garnished (drizzled) these with very little saffron water.
I kid you not, this Thandai Kofta Curry is packed with flavors. Super easy to make and incredibly versatile, these funky meatballs can be combined with ‘Goli khatti’ as in Sour Koftas. Just add some sour yoghurt instead of cream while making the gravy.
To a very very happywala weekend πŸ’ƒπŸ» Do something funky … Do what makes you happy ❤️
